Outfit Repeating - Fall '24 Edition

This is my fourth installment of sharing what I’ve been leaning into each season. If you missed them, here are my winter, spring and summer editions. It’s been one of my favorite ways to look back on what I wore and sought out each season.

Sweaters

I got to dig into my sweater collection early this year (thank you, Paris!) — and now that I’m back in the US and reunited with my closet, I’ve been rotating more of them into the mix. I think I’ve been partial to cardigans this season (apparently they are trending this season?!) I didn’t realize they were ever not “in” — but anyway. I’ve been reaching for this blue cardigan, this black sweater and my trusty grey cardigan. This polo and cotton sweater have also been on every trip I’ve taken since I’ve acquired them.

These knits have been working overtime this season. Especially this one, as seen here, here and here.

Loafers with Socks

I’ve been loving wearing my loafers lately — especially with socks. I find myself rotating in and out of one pair every few months and as of late these have been the star of the show. I have yet to find colorful socks to pair with them, but hopefully that’s part of a future outfit repeating installment. I’ve been wearing mine with these socks which proved themselves by staying in place while running around town all day.

As for the loafers, you’ve probably seen a lot of people rave about them — and for good reason. They are soft from the get go, require no break in period and are surprisingly comfortable despite the lack of support at the bottom. I would love to add another pair to my collection and I’m particularly into this two toned version and this patent version.

Scarves

With the weather changing frequently and not quite needing a coat every day, I’ve been reaching for a scarf as an added layer. I’ve been loving using my Gillian Steven’s scarf because it doubles as a shawl. I’m still looking for a brooch to pair with it, but until then I’ve been securing it with my hair clip as seen here.

Sateen Pants

Welcome to the I-can’t-shut-up-about-these-pants fan club. Truly, one of my favorite purchases of the year. I love them for many reasons, but mainly because the silhouette looks perfect with flats, boots, tennis shoes — anything really. I love them with anything and everything I wear. I also wonder if it’s because this is the first pair of non-trousers or denim pants I’ve purchased and actually loved.

While I’ve only photographed them once, trust me when I say that I’ve worn them several days in a week on repeat.

Medium Blue Denim

If you’re like me, you lean into different colors and shades of denim with each season. In the spring and summer months, it’s my ecru denim and typically in the winter it’s black — for fall it’s those deep blue hues I long for.

My most worn pair has been this 501 90s pair I bought earlier in the year. I own this silhouette in several colors. They’re a bit more rigid and structured in comparison to my other medium blue denim which I love. It’s also the closest to a dark wash denim I own that’s not black. Well, technically I did acquire a pair of vintage Levi’s over the weekend in indigo but I don’t think that counts towards this season.

As we transitioned into Winter and it got darker earlier, I found myself wanting to sink into that one pair of denim that just makes me feel good with little to no thought. I also think there is a lot to say about a perfectly blue hue in the fall — not groundbreaking but nostalgically hits all the right notes maybe?!

These are the full length, but I’ve been itching to add an ankle version to my rotation.

Button Downs

If you’ve read my previous newsletters — this comes as no surprise. Button downs are my go to, like a security blanket. If these aren’t included in each season overview, send help because something must be wrong. I like wearing them with a tank, on their own and lately with a sweater layered over my shoulders.

Donation Update

One Simple Wish

I came across this one through Sarah Palmer’s Substack and just loved the concept after reading about it. The organization helps connect donors with wishes of children who are in foster care. Each wish comes with a note about the child, why they’ve written their wish and a bit of back their story. You can grant specific wishes, or give a non-specific donation to help towards a future wish.

Palestine Children's Relief Fund

Established in 1991, PCRF is a non-political organization that was founded to predominately address the medical and humanitarian crisis facing Palestinian youth. The main objective of PCRF has been to identify and treat every child in the Middle East that requires specialized surgery that may not be available to them locally. PCRF’s mission is to provide assistance to children throughout the Levant, regardless of nationality or religion.

Welcome Baby

The first nonprofit in the US to give low-income moms a comprehensive box containing all the critical supplies needed for a newborn’s first months. One of their Welcome Baby packages includes: 200 diapers, 240 wipes, 2 rash creams, baby carrier, grooming kit, thermometer, 2 pajamas, 2 leggings, 2 swaddle blankets 6 onesies (long and short sleeve), mittens, hat, socks, pacifiers, baby’s first book, baby wash, moisturizer and bottles. For $160 dollars, you can donate all of these items here — along with some smaller donation packages.

I have reached out to Welcome Baby to confirm if their Distribution Partners are the hospitals that they currently provide these Welcome Baby boxes to.
