What I Wore In Paris This Week
winter '25 edition
With a few weeks until spring officially hits, I thought it’d be a great time to do another roundup of what I wore this week in Paris. I shared one in October when we were here looking for an place to live ahead of our move and now that we are finally settling into our apartment (!!!) I wanted to share some of the gems I had hidden away in my second suitcase.
For context, my husband and I moved to Paris with 5 checked suitcases and 2 carry-ons. We each had 2 large checked bags to fill, and the last served as a hodgepodge for miscellaneous items. I packed mostly winter items in one suitcase that I’ve exclusively been getting dressed from and in the other I packed a mix of spring and summer. Since we weren’t sure how long we’d have to wait for the bulk of our stuff to ship, I tried to strategically pack in case it was several months until our items arrived (we couldn’t ship them until we had a permanent address). Anyway, let’s get into it!
Day 1
I had plans to go meet a friend for coffee and it was chilly! I bundled up for the occasion with lots of layers which I was thankful for because we ended up walking through a brocante market for a few hours after so the layers came in handy. I reached for a cotton sweater and layered that over my trusty t-shirt and followed up with a denim jacket. I matched my jeans to my jacket for a Canadian tuxedo look. I had also found my chocolate brown flats that I snuck into my second luggage to pair with the look. It was a wee bit too cold to wear on their own, so I added these socks for some warmth. I also opted to carry my beloved olive purse (black color 40% off! | similar olive option here) to carry my essentials.
Day 2
I woke up feeling a bit under the weather, so I went with an easy and comfortable outfit. I grabbed one of my favorite button downs, my vintage 505s I can’t put down, my most worn belt and put a sweater over my shoulders. While you can’t really see them, I also added a pair of white socks to my oxblood loafers and called it a day. Since we were going to be running errands and I assumed the chilliness would continue, I knew I needed some warmth in layering. Whenever I need to add warmth but don’t want to wear a sweater, I add a sweater over my shoulders to add a layer between my shirt and my jacket. I’ve found this works quite well.
Day 3
I decided it was a black and white outfit type of day (my jeans are 2+ years old, but similar here). I was running late, my hair was wet and I was trying to get out the door in a timely manner so I opted for something simple. I decided to add these sculptural earrings (similar-ish here and here) to make my outfit feel more put together. I reached for my black pointy flats (mine are old, but these are similar) — another hidden gem I found in my luggage. It was too cold to wear them on their own, so I decided to pair them with a black sock to give an illusion of a boot. I think it worked rather well. What do you think?
Day 4
I had an idea of wearing a button down under my sweater (kind of like this!) that didn’t come to life exactly as I thought it would, but I ended loving the end result. I paired this crisp white button down that worked really well under this sweater once I tucked it. I also pulled out a pair of off white jeans, this time with a slight barrel leg and picked up my pointy flats again. With my layers, I could have been okay with a trench, but reached for my winter jacket in case it was chilly. I was headed to French class, so on these days I prefer a zippered tote (lots on TRR) for my metro/bus rides.

Day 5
It was in the low 60s and sunny so I took that as my sign to grab a skirt and my trench. This was also the first day I didn’t need socks to wear my flats — spring is in the air (even if it’s just for this week!). Since my skirt (alternative here) was a bit more form fitting, I wanted a slouchy sweater on top to balance out the look. You can’t see it, but I wore a belt around my waist to tuck in my sweater in the front. I added my trench before heading out the door and voila!
Day 6
Funny enough, both my button down and jeans are vintage finds from the same shop in Amsterdam but two years apart. I found these vintage Levis on our first visit in the fall of 2022 and the button down was something my husband pulled for me to try on when we were there last fall. The sun was shining and the weather was in the low 60s again so I grabbed my trench and threw a cardigan (another luggage find!) over my shoulders before heading out. I knew I would be doing a bit more brisk walking today, so I opted for my comfy loafers (mine are 15 years old, but these are similar).
Day 7
I decided to go casual — we still had a lot of organizing to do and what appears to be an endless list of errands so I opted for something I could quickly throw on and not think twice about. These pants from Buck Mason are my ultimate comfort and one of my most worn items. The easiest pairing I could think of was putting my black sweater over a t-shirt. I spotted my cocoa brown cardigan and threw it over my shoulders for an extra layer before putting on my tennis shoes (the only pair I have with me) for the high step day ahead.

So many questions about your button downs because I’m looking for a good white one that doesn’t have too much structure. I like the Buck Mason mainstay you linked; are you wearing TTS? Then the soldout link threw me for a loop!! Between the two; which would you choose?
