Keeping Tabs
a new series on brands I’m consistently looking up
I constantly test the limits of my computer’s memory with the number of tabs I keep open — some might call it an addiction, I call it admiration for brands doing cool things. Apart from my computer, my husband was the only one who knew about my tab count and poked fun at me for it constantly. He clearly doesn’t appreciate the art of curation.

In the spirit of sharing my high functioning addiction with the world, I thought I’d start a new series highlighting my favorite pieces. Expect many more brands to come your way in future iterations!
If you missed my roundup of small(ish) brands I shared last November, you can read it here.

Vincent James
Vincent James proves something I didn’t quite believe until I saw it with my own eyes: natural, sustainable fibers can hold real structure. The linen asymmetrical drop waist dress is one tab I keep reopening — structural, almost architectural in a way that linen isn’t typically seen. What would the rest of my cart look like? It’d include this cotton and merino skirt, a wool and alpaca sweater and this lovely strapless wool dress

Sherylin Birth
I’m a sucker for a good jewelry brand, my most recent obsession being Anne Shelley. Sherylin Birth is no exception and this one I’ve been keeping to myself for a while now.
Sherylin’s story starts before her birth, with her family’s workshop that’s been operating since 1940. She notes that the women in her family have kept the business alive, from one generation to the next. Today, she has established her own vision and craft by marrying traditional metal and gold smithing techniques into something of her own.

Parallèle
I found Parallèle on a shoe shopping afternoon with a friend and I honestly couldn’t stop noticing their pieces on display everywhere I went in Paris after that. During my first encounter, I tried on these flats and a pair of pumps that could’ve come straight out of my mother’s closet. Both felt incredibly comfortable and well built.
As I was leaving, I spotted these Fall ‘25 sneakers that’ve been haunting me ever since. A low profile sneaker is the key to leaning into comfort without sacrificing style.

Vir Vita
You have seen me mention Vir Vita before, when I linked a beautiful blue tank a few months back. I keep going back to their site and adding more pieces to my try on list. Their ethos is centered around creating pieces that you’ll keep for life and are made for the modern woman. A few that caught my eye: a one shoulder tank that reminds me of one I had growing up, a cashmere long sleeve built for a crisp summer night, and a speckled cashmere cardigan that has me questioning my solid color bias.

Aude Herouard
I’ve honestly never saved anything so fast. Aude Herouard creates sunglasses that transcend those you typically find on the typical retail shelf. Every pair is built around “charismatic figures” translated into whimsical shapes. Suzon was the first to capture my attention. Then Lou and Armelle came onto my radar — I’m having a hard time picking a favorite. Guess I'll have to try them all!

May Favorites '26
May was another jam packed month. As I was going back through my camera roll, I thought to myself “that was a few weeks ago?!” Some pictures already felt like they were from a lifetime ago. We had friends in town, visited family, endured a heatwave and ate lots of gelato. It was the kind of month where time collapses in on itself. I’m telling myself those are signs of time well spent.
What I Wore in Paris This Week
I may have picked the worst week to do a recap of what I wore in Paris — this kind of heat without AC is an ongoing challenge for me. Within days we went from low 60s to low 90s — la canicule (heat wave)! You’ll see a wide range of what I was wearing as I navigated the rapid temperature rise — a survival log per se?
One Week in Provence
We took a two hour train to Lyon before picking up our rental car and driving a scenic three hours south to our hotel. It reminded us of our time in Austin, TX where we’d drive for long stretches of time through the lone star state on our way to our next national park adventure — three hours felt like a breeze with a podcast compared to the multi-day long hauls through the heart of the U.S. We listened to
