I love people watching and a city like Paris is candy for your eyes. As I observed people wandering, I began to notice striped pants, striped jackets, striped blazers, striped coats — stripes everywhere. I own two pairs of striped trousers I’ve talked about before (here and here), so it was possible it was just my confirmation bias. Or maybe stripes are the next repeat of a historical trend?!
I failed at taking pictures while they walked by, but I took notes of how they styled it and I wanted to share it with you, plus some ways I’m styling my striped pants.
One thing to note is that I saw minimal jewelry — if any. I did notice more rings in comparison to anything else.
How Parisians Style It
The first day I was in Paris I saw the most beautiful navy striped coat. It was one of those moments where I turned around and stared at the woman to admire her clothing choice as she faded away into the distance. I deeply regret not running after her and asking her where it was from.
Due to the amount of walking, I am not surprised at the shoe choice. While I noticed mostly Sambas, a few people (including this inspo lady!) were rocking Salomons.

I actually saw someone with this exact coat after I had tried it in a different color at COS a few days prior. I spotted her pairing it with black jeans, sambas and a shoulder bag.

While riding the metro, I spotted a gal in this outfit that made me want to copy every single thing she had on. I personally love a more oversized look for a blazer. I think this also allows for wearing a blazer as a “coat” as it very much works for those transitional outfits in early Fall. BRB currently trying to convince my husband he “needs” this jacket so I can steal it.
PS. If you want this look without investing in a blazer, look in the men’s section for a cotton jacket or even a button down to help you achieve the look.

How I’ve Styled It
I packed my navy striped trousers for Paris and I felt very comfortable as we ran around the city while still feeling chic. Unfortunately I did not take a picture of my full outfit, so I recreated it below. I did take a picture of my pants and shoes, if you’re curious.

I also wore the same trousers in the summer with a tank top and flip flops. I paired it with my olive green purse for some added “color” and called it a day.
You may have also seen me wear and mention these trousers over and over again. One of my favorite outfits I wore this summer seen below.

I’m not Parisian, but I’ll happily join them in wearing stripes any time of the year. What about you?!
PS. Would you like a part two with what else I saw people wearing in Paris?

What I Wore In Paris This Week
In case you missed it, my husband and I are in Paris for the next few weeks visiting family, vacationing with friends and overall just relaxing from the wild year we’ve had. We’ve never taken a vacation this long and stayed in one place to truly enjoy our days without any set plans. We’ve been waking up and deciding at the last minute what we want to do…
Perusing in Paris
My husband and I landed in Paris yesterday and are feeling a little more alive and well after a solid night of sleep. We will be in Paris for a little under a month and plan to do a mix of relaxation, family time, and taking our friends to some of our favorite spots once they join us a few weeks in. We’re also sneaking in a quick trip to
