I always feel the seasons changing so deeply. I remember last year around this time, my husband and I were a few months into marriage. I couldn’t explain it, but things just felt different even though it was the same person and life I’d known for the past 5 years. I didn’t quite get it, but everyone I spoke to mentioned a similar sentiment after marriage. I thought surely, this year would be different. Not quite, but I feel a resurgence of change coming — and I just genuinely feel excited for whatever is ahead. All that is to say, if you also feel seasonal changes deeply and specifically the one from spring to summer, I see you.
AGOLDE Shorts
With the heat, it’s no surprise that shorts made the list. I own them in two colors and find myself reaching for them multiple times a week. I’d love a linen pair for more of a lightweight option. I haven’t quite ventured down that route, because I find shopping for shorts so tricky. I don’t like shorts that are too short and ride up, so I’ve mostly stuck with my AGOLDE pairs because that has never been an issue. I’m also a creature of habit and when I know something works incredibly well it's hard to veer away from it.
ILIA Eyebrow Gel
I spoke about eyebrow gel a few months ago and I think I’ve found the winner. Switching to ILIA’s clear eyebrow gel almost instantly made my life easier. I’ve used it everyday and the combination of the eyebrow brush and gel made my eyebrows stay in place with zero white residue all day. Another major plus is not having to wipe excessive product off each time I want to apply the serum.
Ecru Denim
This shouldn’t come as a surprise, especially if you read my April favorites. I’ve been wearing ecru denim 3+ times a week lately. I’ve realized I have an obsession with off white denim and I always want more but thankfully I’ve stopped myself (for now). I think it’s partly due to fit but also because they go with everything and feel light and airy for summer dressing. My favorite pair is my first Ecru pair from MOTHER that are sadly no longer available. The fit is just impeccable and they’re what I would describe to be the perfect pair. You can buy them in a dark blue version as well. Two things to note: when comparing fit notes from my pair to the new colors — the leg opening is a 1/2 size smaller. Additionally, mine are 100% cotton, while the new color-way is 59% cotton and 41% Lyocell.
Other honorable mentions are my wide leg, straight leg and barrel-esque jeans.
Havaianas
I know black flip flops are all the rage, but if you want a sturdier option that won’t break the bank I own these and get lots of wear out of them. I put them on when I’m running a quick errand or want a sandal to pair with my outfit. I own the rose gold color, but they appear to be nude to me. Years ago, I went to get a pedicure and I had forgotten my sandals and they were selling these. I’ve had them for 3+ years and I’ve been pleasantly surprised. They also come in black! The strap is shiny, which isn’t super noticeable on my pair but might be on the black.
If you want a logo-less option, I would opt for these from A.EMERY. I’ve mentioned them before and will be the next option I go for in case the Nodi doesn't work out. If you’ve been following along with my other posts, no, I haven’t purchased any of them yet. But I think I’ve decided on a color, so stay tuned!
M.GEMI Francesca
I’ve mentioned Francesca countless times and here it is again. It’s one of the purses in my closet I reach for constantly. I’ve been wearing the crossbody strap to go handsfree lately and it’s been perfect. I can fit my essentials and it’s a chic bag when traveling or on the go running errands. I’m considering buying it in Ecru because I get so much wear out of mine.
Sunscreen
I’ll die on this hill, but you should be wearing sunscreen everyday. If you don’t do anything else skincare wise, do this at a minimum, especially in the summer. My favorite face sunscreen as of late is Beauty of Josen that I’ve been using since last year. My husband loves Unseen by Supergoop, and it’s truly the best US option I’ve ever tried but I personally think the price is a little outrageous for how quickly you go through a bottle. All that said, the best sunscreen is the one you actually use so if that’s the one that gets him to use and reapply then it's 100% worth it. My friend recently told me Trader Joe’s has one that feels almost exactly the same as the Unseen for 1/4 of the price. I’m planning on having my husband compare it — I’ll report back soon!

The body sunscreen I absolutely love but unfortunately isn’t available in the US is Vichy’s Melting Milk Gel. Side note: I do not know if this website is reputable, so I’d do some research if you’re interested! It is also much more expensive than you would find in France. I stock up when I’m in France and my mother in law also comes bearing gifts in the form of sunscreen replenishment from her family visits there. I unfortunately haven’t found an alternative body sunscreen I like that is close enough. Most leave me feeling sticky or make me want to rinse it off immediately. Cherries & Chocolates
I’ve already mentioned I love a post dinner chocolate square, but we’ve gone a level further this month and have been eating cherries and chocolate together — it’s such a delicious combo. It also makes me think that cherries and chocolate ice cream would be a superb flavor and now I'm on a mission to find it.
Traveling With Friends
We recently went to Mexico City for a short trip to visit friends and it was the first time a trip like this has made it out of the idea stage. I love how it all came together at the last minute and we found ourselves roaming around the city eating lots of yummy food, easily walking 20k steps a day and just having the best time. As I get older, I realize there are fewer and fewer moments we will get to experience like this. Not for lack of trying, but inevitable life changes will make it harder. I’m grateful I was able to experience this with our friends. I think I feel this a bit more deeply (insert seasonal change!) because they are also moving to the PNW at the end of the summer. This is the 3rd friend group that has moved out of Austin, TX in the past few months and it makes me want to hold onto every little moment until it's all different and we aren’t just a quick 15 mins car ride away from each other anymore.

Ok well you have me sold on the AGOLDE Jean shorts because the fit of those looks ideal for me. Generally speaking I hate shorts but these are so promising! Thanks for sharing!
Where is that adorable belt from that you’re wearing with your striped pants?
