A.P.C. — A Try On
the pieces that called my name
After getting coffee with a friend, we walked by two A.P.C. stores on our way home — the second one’s visual merchandising stopped me in my tracks. This coat was displayed outside and my lust for it immediately began. I’m a sucker for a good shade of olive green.

After walking in and admiring various pieces, I decided it was time for another try on.
ps — this is part of an ongoing series of try-ons featuring Parisian brands (or ones I simply love). I’ve previously shared try-ons from Buck Mason, Soeur and Posse, if you’re curious about those!
What I Own
Technically, I don’t own anything from A.P.C., but my husband and mother-in-law do. I’ve been a longtime gawker and fan of the brand. I’ve sold both of them on it, but my slow shopping tendencies have left me paralyzed in indecision. I once contemplated this purse in Amsterdam for far too long. I do like to “borrow” my husband’s jackets when I want to switch things up — most notably this green one.
I hope my future wardrobe includes a few A.P.C. pieces like this long coat and this dreamy suede purse.

What I Tried On
Ondine Shirt
I spotted this on the rack and immediately knew I needed to try it on. It reminded me of Tina Boetto’s Sea, New York version. It was lightweight, and the shoulder “flaps” were a cool twist on a classic. The sleeves were slightly ballooned and it could be worn tucked or untucked. It’s one of those pieces that can take you straight from the office to date night.
Fit notes — I found this true to size. I tried one size down (pictured) and it fit, but the armpit area felt too snug.
Boyfriend Shirt
I actually asked to try this shirt, but they brought me this one instead. It’s meant to be fitted but still has a roomy feel to it, almost like a boyfriend shirt. I ended up trying one size down from my regular size, and it looked great tucked in. It has a tiny, barely noticeable logo on the pocket — worth noting if you’re logo-averse!
Fit notes — Slightly oversized. Go true to size for a relaxed oversized look or size down for a slimmer fit.
Abby Top
I originally wanted to try on the cardigan-like version, but the sales associate brought the one picture below instead. It doesn’t appear to be available on the US website, but it’s essentially the same cut and material as this cardigan. It’s insanely soft and lightweight. Note: it’s sheer with a white bra, so I’d recommend a nude one or a tank underneath for a more seamless look.
Fit notes — I found this ran true to size.

Becca Jacket
The moment I put this on, I audibly said “wow” — and so did my husband. It’s the kind of moment that makes you want to check out immediately. It’s perfectly oversized while maintaining a solid structure. I love the subtle ballooning in the sleeves. It comes in two colors and according to the sales associate, it’s one of the fastest selling pieces this season.
Fit notes — It runs oversized. I’d recommend going down one size. If you want to layer thicker pieces underneath, go true to size.
Lucy Blazer
Another piece I couldn’t resist trying on after spotting it on the rack. It’s 100% wool and features a beautiful plaid pattern for Fall. It’s much more lightweight than I had anticipated off the rack. I tried on my usual size, which had extra fabric at the waist when it was buttoned up. After sizing down, it was the perfect fit when buttoned up. I’d likely wear it open, but either size worked depending on styling.
ps — if you loved my friend’s thrifted blazer in last week’s post, this is very similar!
Fit notes — I found this ran oversized. I would recommend sizing down. For layering, I’d go true to size.
Maxi Suede Purse
This comes in four sizes, and I tried on the largest. If you’ve read my wishlist post, you know I’m looking for a tote to complement my crossbody. I immediately spotted this one from across the room. It’s lusciously soft, has a zipper and fits a laptop inside. Music to my ears — I just love the versatility of it.
The Shrunken Fit Jacket
A few days after my visit to A.P.C., I saw that they’d released a collaboration with Marc Jacobs. For some added history, Marc Jacobs and Jean Touitou were introduced in the 90s by Sofia Coppola and have been friends ever since.
I immediately went back in person to check out this jacket. While I might have scrolled past it online due to the bright collar, in person, that detail was exactly what made it so captivating. The color is actually a nod to Marc Jacob’s “Carte Orange” metro pass and Touitou’s student pass from Sorbonne University.
It’s unlined, but feels substantial. You could easily wear this with a thin sweater and feel comfortable on a crisp fall day. The collar also appears more of a bright orange-y red in person.
Fit notes — I found this ran true to size. If you want to layer heavier pieces or have fuller hips, go up one size.
The Stoned Canvas Unisex Jacket
The same jacket as above, but from the men’s section — technically unisex! I preferred this silhouette and fit to the shrunken version. I love an oversized workwear jacket, and they nailed it on this one. Since it was cut for men, it already runs quite large. I tried on a small and it felt perfectly oversized. I’m also a big fan of the dropped shoulder.
Fit notes — I found this ran oversized. Size down one to two sizes if you want something more fitted.
The Denim Unisex Jacket
If i’m not mistaken, this shares the same silhouette as the Stoned Canvas Unisex Jacket. Denim jackets are my weakness and this one didn’t disappoint. Normally, I don’t love visible branding but this A.P.C. x Marc Jacobs logo felt tasteful. It reminded me of my DÔEN jacket I love and wear often.
The fit notes are the same as above! I also tried on a size down to compare and while it fit, it wasn’t as oversized as I’d come to enjoy. Depending on how you like your pieces to fit, sizing is flexible.
Fit notes — I found this ran oversized. Size down one to two sizes for a fitted look.
Sophia Button Down Shirt
I finally got to try on the cropped button down I’d been eyeing since my first visit. It’s billowy and boxy, yet structured enough to give you shape. It’s slightly longer in the back, which I appreciate in a cropped cut. It’s also lightweight and features a dropped shoulder — a personal favorite. You can easily tuck it into high waisted jeans or trousers.
Fit notes — I found this ran true to size.
Fabrizio Zippé Jacket
Another gem from the men’s section. My husband owns a similar wool version from last fall and I couldn’t resist trying this one on. It was roomy in the body, but tighter in the waistband — so I’d prefer to wear it open.
Fit notes — I found this ran oversized. Go down one size for a fitted silhouette. The waistband is snug though, so if you want more room, go true to size.
Elizabeth Jean
I attempted to try these on, but the sales associate accidentally brought a pair several sizes too small. I didn’t notice until I was wrestling to put them on. By then, I’d lost the will to ask for the correct size. I’m honestly surprised I got them on at all, so I’ll assume they run oversized. The wash and feel of the material was lovely though! At 5’6”, I’d need to have them hemmed or wear them with boots!
ps — you can find the Marc Jacobs x A.P.C. collab on Marc Jacobs site as well!

An Unintentional Paris Fashion Week Debrief
I had zero intention of writing a debrief on Paris Fashion Week. Since moving to Paris, a few fashion weeks have come and gone, but none have captivated me enough to take photos or share what I saw. Turns out, this was the one I needed. Below are compilations of outfits, people and moments that caught my eye — plus a few things my friends saw and did as well!
Outfits Inspired by Film
Welcome back to another installment of Outfits Inspired by Film! Each month, I pair my film photography alongside outfits inspired by scenes I’ve captured. As always, If there is a look or scene you’d like me to interpret, let me know in the comments!

This was so helpful! I never quite trust brand PDP photos since there's a lot of adjusting/pinning behind the scenes and samples tend to be used. I loved the enormous collar blouse, and agree with you and your husband that the Becca jacket is a wow.
I love your try-on series so much! A nice bonus is that I’m pretty sure we wear a similar size, so it’s even more helpful to see how everything fits on you :)
Also, not related, but I’m so intrigued by your husband’s style — he seems to have such great taste based on his comments and the pieces you borrow from his closet 👀 I’d love a post about him to get some inspo for mine (who’s more of an “I’ll wear whatever you tell me to and not ask any questions” type) lol
