My wishlist is very much the same from the spring version with some minor alterations. As always, these are guidelines I’ve set for myself as I consider items and make purchases this summer. If you’re curious how I did on my Spring wishlist, you can read a midseason update here.
Black Sandals
This was on my spring wishlist, but I didn’t move the needle very much except for adding more options to consider. You’re probably wondering, why is “Black” crossed out in the heading? As I’ve done more research, I’ve found myself gravitating toward colors that aren’t black. I keep going back to how practical black would be due to its wearability, but part of me wants something a little more unexpected that would force me to play with different color combinations. For example, this buttery light yellow or a brown suede.
Stay tuned as I’m a certified over thinker that often takes too long to make a decision and the moment (read: item availability) may soon pass.
Summer Dresses
I live in dresses during the summer. It’s one of my favorite things to put on during hot days. I’d love to add a colorful or patterned option that’d be easy to throw on. At the same time, I’d love a slightly more elevated option that could be worn on a date night out or worn casually. I recently ordered this to try on and learned I’m not a drop waist person. Not sure if it was the fabric, dress or how it fit, but I didn’t love the look of it on me. The dress would have been perfect for me if the black and white met at the waist.
Alternatively, since I love button downs, I’ve been pondering a shirt dress. I recently tried this one and liked it. Part of me wished it was 1-2 inches longer, especially if I wanted to belt it. I definitely couldn’t bend over to pick something up and would find myself being a little too careful, which might be a little too much for a dress I'd like to throw on more casually.
Elevated Tops
Last season I inadvertently zeroed in on vests and I’d love to expand this category in different silhouettes. I have had my eye on this strapless top for months but haven’t pulled the trigger on it yet. I’m also not opposed to a linen option even though that means it’d be more of a warmer month wear vs something that could extend into the fall.
I’d love any and all ideas you have in this department! I think there are so many cool silhouettes I’m not considering because I just haven’t seen them before. Drop your recommendations or brands you love below!
Relaxed Pants
I’m still in search of a denim pant alternative. I tried Donni’s pop pant a few months back and I felt like I was wearing pajamas, mainly because of the color, their recognizable blue striped option. I think black would be nice for a relaxed version especially if it’s linen. I saw Donni also had a linen pant that might be more up my alley. And to throw yet another into the mix, pants like this or this still catch my eye. The search continues.
Colorful Pants
Ever since
shared her Marcelle pants, I’ve looked them up weekly. I am a huge sucker for olive green and they remind me of a pair I used to own years ago. I sadly had to donate them due to fit. Since then, I’ve had my eyes on adding a colorful pant option to my wardrobe. For whatever reason, I’m not a huge print on bottoms type of gal (unless they’re shorts!). However when I saw these, they had me questioning who I am. If I'm being honest, I think I’ll most likely end up with a solid color. It’s also possible I fall for a relaxed colored pant version like these and kill two birds with one stone.Colorful Accessory
I’ve had my eye on several colorful items, but two that I keep going back to are purses and shoes. I’ve had my eye on this purse for a while — it's a small top handle purse that also has a crossbody strap. I love the versatility of it. The two colors that haunt me are lemon and red. I recently felt the leather thanks to a very kind stranger who let me touch it after I complimented her Luna bag (also on the list and same material!). She also raved about the quality. She was rocking the lavender color and it looked stunning in person.
For another pop of color, I’ve been considering colorful shoes. When I look at what I typically gravitate toward, it appears to be variations of red or bright blues. I’ve previously talked about these ballet flats and these square toe flats as options.
I also love the idea of a tennis shoe. I find myself seeking easy and comfortable outfits during the summer months because the heat often knocks the energy right out of me. I often just want to throw something on and get from my house to where I’m going while taking cover from the harsh heat of Austin, TX. Two that have caught my eye in recent months have been these orangey ones and these blue ones. Whenever I look them up, they are often sold out in my size. I’ll have to play my luck at one of the Adidas stores if I decide to go this route.

Amazing pics! So elevated and refined.
I also live in sundresses during the summer and I wouldn’t have it any other way
